i have very curly hair and it goes up like an afro which shampoo should i use to make it go wavy or stright but not up like an afro

Shampoo isn't really going to help that much. Try using a straightening balm after you come out of the shower (I think Garnier has a pretty good one) and then dry it with a high power hair dryer and a big paddle brush.
