ok the top half of my extremely thick EXTREMELY curly hair is made up of tight curls, where as the bottoms are tight but not as tight so the top somewhat like a mushroom sitting on top of my head with some hair sticking out from under it, and when my hair is curly it starts out straight but different parts grow faster than others and when i straighten my hair, its crazy uneven, what should i get done to help this

Here, i too have curly hair, this is my hair cut. Layered. But do not layer it too much, like a four inch difference from top to bottom if your hair is long, like mine. I swear, it is really nice. Don't get layers when you cut your hair, try to keep it one long length and keep the longer bottom hair trimmed a bit more then the top curlier hair.

1. a stylist who knows how to deal with curly hair. if you are a white girl i would suggest a black stylist. not to be prejudicial or anything, but most black women know how to deal with super curly hair (more so than white women)

2. try a straightening serum for the top layer. or even a few rollers.

get good ethnic haircare products now. 'mizani' is a great product line.

I have the exact same problem but opposite so I understand what youre going through. If its not naturally even, you need to make it even. I use a product called making waves. Its amazing. You can buy it at any salon. Put that in your hair and scrunch it at the bottom only, where there arent as many curls, and try to smooth out the top a little bit. Then blow dry it with a diffuser, with your head upside down, trying to focus mainly on the bottom. That should work great for you. Good luck!

First of all DO NOT CUT YOUR HAIR!! The best thing to do it pick it up for now but let it grow. Trust me I know what Im talking about I have really thick curly hair and I had the same problem as you but I let it grow and now my hair is pretty and long. Hope this works for you. Good Luck!!!

make sure your hair is straight when you get your hair cut. Then when it's curly it'll be fine, and when you staighten it wont be all uneven. I have really curly hair too, and in my experience, some stylists just don't deal well with SUPER curls.
