Do layers look good on curly hair?

i want to get my hair layered, for when i straighten it, but my hair is naturally curly and i don't straighten it THAT often, and i have a feeling that layers don't look nice with curls.. but i'm not sure what would really happen

any advice?

Ah, one of those age old questions... the answer my dear is only LONG layers work. Short layers have the opposite effect from what you want. Long will keep your hair looking shapely and healthy. :)

ok, da thing with layers is that it gives u more volume, which is a good thing, but if ur hair is very curly, then tat mite not be da best thing, but if u really want to get layers, DON'T GET SHORT LAYERS, or else da curls will make ur head look huge, and grow out ur hair, it'll look SOOO pretti :] but no matter wat, i'm soo jealous tat u have naturally curly hair, cuz my hairs so frickin straight 24/7, well, god bless and luv to u!

yeah. my mom is a hair stylist and my friend hannah has SUPER curly hair and it has lots of layers and it looks good when she straightens it or wears it curly it always looks good...especially with some kind of bang.

Only if you have long hair. My hair is maybe 6 inches below shoulder, but at an angle, so the front of like up to my chin. It is very nice straight, but when I curl my hair, I don't like it because the curls in the front are so short. Layers would be the same thing, if your hair is a few inches below your shoulders, and not at an angle, then it is ok. Otherwise, I would not suggest it.

I wanted layers too for when I straightened my hair, but I barely straighten it, only like three times a year.

Anyhoo, layers make your hair thinner, which is normally good for curly hair because usually curly hair thick. It works, trust me.

My hair is layered, but they are very very very long layers to where you can only tell its layered when its straight and you stare hard.. and of course my "bangs" are shorter than the rest of my hair.

Your hair doesn't get really poofy (mine doesn't, and I have thick hair), but I suppose you can somewhat tell it is layered.. Sorry, I get off track. To answer your question, it won't look bad, it will probably be better, and ask for long layers. And I mean long, or else it will poof up.

That's what I thought at first, but it actually looks great. If you want a bit more volume it really helps too. I love my hair.

trust me, if your hair is short do NOT get layers!!! This will just make your hair be dry and stick out everywhere after you wash it. But if it is long at least you could put it in a ponytail.

NO i would not do that. my friend has very curly hair and she got layers it was not good. i makes you hair very poofy. and deff dont cet short layers it really makes your hair look 10 times bigger than it is.
